For some reason I've gone down a rabbit hole about this. It's very hard to tell because everyone has their own opinions but... .Twilight probably has OCD and possibly ASD. .Pinky pie I've seen quite a few things but the only one that seemed consistent to me was ADHD .Then fluttershy probably has anxiety and social anxiety. .From what I can tell Applejack likes work but maybe doesn't qualify for a workaholic idk so I guess she's just normal then. .Rainbow dash is also hard she has some Narcissistic Qualities and some ADHD qualities but doesn't really have enough to properly be considered either. .And Rarity was also had a lot of things thrown about her but the one that seems to make the most sense again is HPD. Let me know you guys thoughts. What you disagree with and please tell me if I got anything horribly wrong. There might be some disorders i didnt research enough to know if i agree. I think that's the end of this rabbit hole of returning to my childhood.

honestly, i think pinkie pie has ADHD, she gets side tracked easily, extremely hyper active, switches activities quickly, bad memory, and disorganization. but it is possible for her to have hypomania. Twilight sparkle is actually written down as autistic too, and having OCD along with that would make sense.

I'm seeing this video eight years after it was posted, and I feel like we've learned a lot about mental health and other neurotypes since then! autism and OCPD have a lot of overlap, but in my opinion, Twilight's deffffinitely autistic. her "compulsions" can completely be attributed to overanalyzing. many autistic people struggle with filtering their thoughts and can heavily ruminate, which she demonstrates very well. Pinkie Pie really reads as being AuDHD (both ADHD and autism) to me with possible borderline personality disorder due to her issues with abandonment. all of the characters are pretty neurodivergent-coded honestly, quick example being their shared sense of justice to do the right thing and be a good friend. again, just my opinion as someone with AuDHD and who's hyperfixations currently happen to be mlp and psychoanalysis :) I'm at the end of season seven so far ahhh :D

Ik it’s been eight years but I wanna clarify that neurodivergent disabilities like ADHD are usually UNDERdiagnosed, especially in girls, not over diagnosed. As for Applejack, while not a personality disorder, I think she would be best described by avoidant attachment or unorganized attachment disorder, given her personal losses as a child and her tendency to fight and run away from home

I'm glad I typed it on RUclips bronies with disabilities otherwise I never would have found this video you made, but there is one more pony I think you might have missed derpy hooves, she's mainly the reason why most of the brony fandom how to relate with including myself because a lot of us have disabilities and while some of them are the same some of them are different and more complicated some are because of they got from their mom or dad, but overall this was still a really good video but is there a chance you might make another one about derpy something like the journey of disabilities in life rather they be born with it or develop them later on?

Personally I feel with Applejack isn't just a workaholic, but I do also feel she has PTSD from losing her parents, now let me explain. So she is EXTREMELY protective towards Applebloom, to the point of almost being a helicopter sister or just over protective, she is extremely big on taking care of the farm with she knows her parents loved, also she is big of family and family sticking together, one good example of it having to do with the loss of her parents is her hat, she has to keep it with her, she feels if she loses it she will lose her connection to her parents, more specifically her father, she doesn't want to lose her family, heck even in the last episode of the show when they're older not only does she still have her hat but she also is now wearing Granny Smiths scarf thing, same with Applebloom wearing their Aunt's neck thing in the same episode.

As someone who LOVES mlp and loves psychology I have some things to say! (i know this video is old im just a nerd) I agree with Rarity having HPD, but she does definitely seem like a stereotypical person with HPD Rainbow Dash having NPD i do agree with as i’ve seen some people with NPD actually like to headcannon her with it. But people with NPD struggle with low self esteem and i don’t see Rainbow Dash having that at all? Also with the empathy comment. People with NPD do have empathy, it’s just low in emotional and compassionate. They do have normal levels of cognitive empathy though. (Also the ‘her being a sociopath’ comment is completely incorrect as people with NPD aren’t sociopaths that’s Antisocial Personality Disorder) I don’t know much about bipolar disorder but i do know (and have) BPD and i agree Pinkie Pie has that instead. Basically in the episode “Party of One” Her psychotic episode is triggered by her feeling abandoned by her friends. People with BPD tend to jump to insane conclusions about their friends or close relationships abandoning them and it can trigger harsh reactions. From personal experiences, i’ve completely forgotten important things that my friends have had on because i jumped to a conclusion that they hated me and they abandoned me, Pinkie does the same in that episode. That’s why when she realised her friends were actually planning her birthday she instantly switches. Even in another episode (which came out after this video) “Yakety sax” where her friends tell her she’s “not good” at the yovidaphone she breaks down and becomes depressed, Which again happens to people with BPD if we aren’t good at something we can break down and become depressed and instantly hate ourselves and think we are worthless. Also people with BPD do have unstable relationships and can depend on people a lot, Pinkie Pie loves her older sister Maud Pie a lot, you could say that “Oh that’s just her sister” But i don’t recall her loving her other sisters THIS much as she loves Maud (even her friends). To a point where in the episode “Maud Pie” when her friends said they don’t think they’re clicking with Maud, Pinkie got REALLY upset. Then she made that obstacle course for her friends and her sister that put herself in danger just because she wanted her friends and her sister to be friends. When it doesn’t work and Maud goes back home Pinkie goes back with her. In another episode (I don’t know the name) it’s S7EP4 where Maud is either moving to Ponyvill or Ghastly Gorge and Pinkie Pie wants to prove Ponyvill is better so her sister can move there, she ends up getting in the way of Maud and Starlights friendship (Yeah it was morso because she underestimated her sister but she did really want her sister to move to ponyvill). And in the episode “The Gift of Maud Pie” Pinkie wants to get a great gift for Maud and has no choice but to sacrifice her party cannon (something she really loves) for the gift she wants for Maud. Also how many times Pinkie Pie compliments Maud and says she’s “the best” and how much she loves her sister. Not saying her relationship with Maud is unstable it’s actually really healthy it’s just how excessively she loves her sister. People with BPD can love someone certain (friend, sibling, partner) so much that they can get in the way of that persons other relationships, sacrifice their own things they love for that person and can want that person to be friends with their friends. (Not everyone with BPD does those things specifically) I know there is an episode with Maud and her boyfriend but this comment it long already so i’ll leave that out xD I do think i’m reaching a bit with the Maud Pie part BUT i still think it’s a possibility that Pinkie does have BPD in some way xD

i just typed like 1000 words that i put in my notes instead of comment now- literally just who i correlate with most, and goddamn for years i have struggled with these traits (fluttershy especially) bc im neurodivergent, and have trauma from times i basically had to push myself to be in front of people etc and it never went well. Just bullying happening all the time, and i felt like it was my fault sometimes but nowadays i realise none of it was istg at the time, mlp was the thing that got me through it, and it felt like dying going from my comfort zone to my hell on earth lmao. I think that emotional tennis game i used to play is why im so goofy and cannot be like others without seriousss effort anyways, this shows great. i love projecting lmao if anyone reads this, there is probably a reason you struggle with things, love yourself before you blame yourself :3

Hot take Ig, but maybe Pinky pie has borderline personality disorder? Here me out: people with borderline personality disorder (BPD) fear abandonment, are good at acting (because they kinda copy who they're around and dk who they are), plus BPD mimics bipolar but the cycles of depression and mania are very rapid like in the episode you mentioned for her. It's been a long time since I watched MLP so I could be very wrong, and I'm not a professional, but I remember relating to pinkie pie the most (and sometimes family would compare me to her), I likely have Borderline Personality Disorder (my dad is diagnosed with it, my mom is studying psychology and thinks I have it, plus my therapist is pretty sure I have it to), I am diagnosed with ADHD among some other things too. Since Idk/don't remember Pinkie Pie's past I'm unsure if BPD is likely because usually BPD requires trauma to form according to my knowledge. I seem to recall (though this could've been a dream/my brain making stuff up) an episode where Pinky Pie no matter what she did never got attention from her family and was basically thought of as worthless to them (there were a lot of rocks in the episode I think? My memory is very spotty and it's been over 6 years since I saw it), which leads me to think Pinkie Pie was emotionally neglected and to certain extremes (usually paired with other damaging events though) it can lead to trauma for some people. Take this with a grain of salt ofc, this is just my thoughts. Sorry for the wall of text lol
